Due May 20th, 2010 - NYVS is the number one online destination for video enthusiasts around the world who are interested in using video in their everyday lives. From beginners with their first digital video cameras, to professionals looking to network and discover the latest in video technology and new techniques, NYVS is the premier online community for those looking to learn about video.  NYVS offers online users the ability to take over 200 individual lessons on demand from any computer and their social learning architecture allows people with shared interests to learn together, share ideas, and grow as a body.  This helps make learning easier, faster and more enjoyable. 

PROJECT OBJECTIVE: To create a 30-second commercial telling the world the importance of learning to produce digital video and how NYVS can help them. NYVS has two audiences that they are targeting with this commercial. Please choose one of these audiences as the focus of your commercials.  You are more than welcome to submit two videos, one for each audience:

General Public:  Anyone who is interested in learning to do amazing things with their video camera and laptop.  This can be a beginner that is interested in learning the basics of shooting, editing, and sharing their videos or a video enthusiast who wants to improve his or her video-making skills or experiment with different techniques and new technologies.

Aspiring Video Professionals:  People who are interested in starting professional video careers video or finding alternative ways to make money by creating videos.  Often these people do not want, or can’t afford to go to a ‘brick and mortar’ school and would rather opt to join NYVS for $9.95 a month.

2. Most Viewed Phase:   May 17, 2010 – June 16, 2010
The two videos viewed the most times online (delivered by Tongal via embed, email or share) within the period of 30 days following the Video submission deadline will win.

1st Place: $500 plus 1 year NYVS membership (a $100 value)

2nd Place: $250 plus 6 year NYVS membership (a $60 value)

BONUS PRIZE: EVERYONE WHO SUBMITS A VIDEO THAT IS ACCEPTED INTO THE COMPETITION WILL RECEIVE A FREE 1 MONTH NYVS MEMBERSHIP.
