Due July 26th, 2010 - Forget the wine list, ignore the sommelier and tell the store clerk to go wait on someone else. Everything you need to make an informed and relevant wine-buying decision is right in the palm of your hand. 

winepicks has captured hundreds of descriptors, categorized thousands of grape varietals, identified tens of thousands of wineries, mapped hundreds of thousands of bottles of wine, and squeezed all of that knowledge into a dynamic, free and an easy-to-use iPhone app. Simply rate a few wines you’ve consumed and winepicks will build a personal taste profile based on what you did (or didn’t) like about them.  If you happen to be out on the town, in less than sixty seconds winepicks will figure out where you are, access that restaurant's or store's wine list, provide you with some search tools (type, price, food pairing) compare that list to your taste profile and then sort their list based upon wines that you might enjoy, filtered by your search criteria. The resulting recommendations will be scored on a scale of 1 to 5 as to how they match your tastes and represent wines that are avail from existing inventory.  If you’re looking for that perfect food-wine pairing, simply select the type of food that you will be enjoying and winepicks will find a wine that suits your taste AND pairs well with that food.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE: Create a fun and engaging 30-second video for winepicks that demonstrates how this new, user-friendly, multi-functional app assists the potential winebuyer; and how the process of choosing the right wine for the right price and the right occasion, can be a gratifying and informative experience.  Although the commercial needs to work as a humorous and entertaining marketing tool, most importantly, the ad needs to compel the viewer to actually download and use the application.
