Due on May 15th, 2009 - YouTube and Cannes Lions have partnered to search for two young creatives to win an all-expenses paid trip to this year's Festival and fill a new 38th place as Team YouTube in the 2009 Young Lions Film Competition. This is a timed contest, so please pay attention on how to submit!
HOW IT WORKS
Make the ad. At Midnight, GMT, May 15, we will release a brief for an ad for a charity. You'll have 48 hours to make the ad, upload it to YouTube, and submit to this channel.
Spread the word. Between May 17 and June 1, you will need to get your ad as many views as possible. Embed it, blog about it, tweet it - whatever it takes.
Go to Cannes. Two winners, judged on creativity and the videos' views, ratings and footprint. They will win an all-expenses-paid trip to Cannes to represent YouTube in the prestigious Young Lions contest.
PRIZE
The winners will be announced on 5 June: the prize for the two selected winners is an all-expenses paid trip to the Festival to take part in the Young Lions Film Competition as Team YouTube offering a fantastic exposure for young creatives looking to carve a role in the advertising or film industry.
ELIGIBILITY
Age restrictions: You need to be 18-28 years old (born between 27 June 1980 and 21 June 1990).
Country restrictions: This Contest is not open to residents of Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Myanmar (Burma) and any other U.S. sanctioned country. Winning entrants resident in countries where YouTube does not have a localised site (eg Singapore) will be responsible for their travel to a country where YouTube does have a localised presence (eg Hong Kong), and the trip to Cannes will be paid for by the contest organizers thereafter in accordance with the contest rules.
You know that video you did for that brand contest way back in 2009? That really good one that somehow amazingly didn't win any award? We would like to see it - and maybe even give you a long awaited and well deserved award. Click here for your second chance.
