Audience Awards Social Political Shorts Festival
For social and political high impact short films.
FUJI Finepix S8600 camera

Due June 4th, 2019 - Filmmakers have a gift for reaching people in ways others do not. If you've made a short film calling attention to a social or political issue relevant to the controversial times in which we live, Audience Awards offers you an invaluable platform for exposure for your film. They seek social/political films for their festival.

Once you successfully upload and submit your film to this festival on the site, your film is reviewed by our festival screeners for admittance. You will receive notice if your film is accepted or rejected before voting opens.

From the first round of live audience and jury voting on The Audience Awards platform, the top 3 films with the most votes and the top 4 jury-selected films advance to the prestigious finals round. The finalist films are judged by an esteemed panel of industry jurors. The top three final jury winners from the finals round are deemed the finalists and will screen live at Audience Awards Film Festival in 2020 where they will compete against all of the finalist films from the previous year for the Best of Fest award.

On the voting open date, your film is juried by our preliminary jury panel and the global audience. From this first round, the top 3 films with the most votes and the top 5 preliminary jury-selected films advance to the finals round. If audience winners are preliminary jury selections, the prelim jury will select additional films so that there are always 8 finalist films. From the 8 films, the expert jury panel will select their top 5 films. These films are the finalists of this festival and will screen live at AudFest 2020.

The finalists from this online portion of A2 screen at our live festival in 2020. Your days at our festival will be filled with invaluable industry panels, networking, and workshops, your nights filled with screenings and parties. This is the capstone of 365 days full of stellar filmmaking and an opportunity for them to provide opportunity and exposure to our filmmaker family. They play with cameras, gear, learn from industry experts, get mentored by industry execs. They honor pioneer filmmakers and screen your amazing films. The goal is to leave AudFest recharged, connected and ready to take the next step in your career.

3 things to note:

   1. Your film will be publicly viewed, so make sure it’s the right time for your film to gain an online audience. If it's too early for the public to watch your short film online, they invite you to come back next year and submit.

   2. If you want your friends and family to vote for your film, share away. Audience voting greatly increases your views & exposure for your film and career, but social sharing is not necessary to win. The jury ultimately chooses the finalists and winners of the festival.

   3. Accepted films may be invited to screen on Audience Awards OTT channel. Details about this opportunity are sent at the time of the invitation.
