Due April 24th, 2018 - Today, we are facing the loss of wildlife species all over the world. While the San Diego Zoo works to maintain sustainable populations of species in their two parks, the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, they are also working to protect them in native habitats. The general public knows that they have a world-class zoo and safari park, and it's true take they care for the largest collection of animals in the world, bar none.

They also take care of one of the largest plant collections on the planet. They use science to help threatened and endangered animals, and sometimes to help species that are extinct in the wild reproduce to become self sustaining for the future. Most people do not realize that they are also stewards for wildlife and habitats, in the U.S. and in more than 35 countries around the world. They have reintroduced more than 30 endangered species back into their habitats, and thei team of experts are helping to preserve habitat in 50 global field sites, working to save animals where they live. However, they can’t put back species when there is no place for them to go.

More and more, they are seeing stories of animals and plants that have been displaced by human encroachment on their homes. They recognize that they need to work to protect these species while raising awareness for the need to protect the habitats from which they originate.

It's time to activate people and inspire them to join the San Diego Zoo Global Wildlife Conservancy. Let's ask the world to join the efforts now, and support our global work to save species from extinction! They're already saving many animals from extinction—such as the California condor, addax, reticulated giraffe, Pacific pocket mouse, burrowing owl, and giant panda—and with help, they'll save even more.

This video, along with other campaign elements, will be featured on television across the U.S. It's important the viewer understands that any support they can give—through a visit to the zoo, or if they can't visit, a donation to the cause—helps with efforts to save species and ecosystems.

This is a message of hope, helping people to understand the crisis facing species all over the world today as they have less space to live in.

They believe in a future where:
*Wildlife and humans live side by side
*Humans show respect for wildlife and their homes
*People will rally to help us in our efforts to protect species all over the world.

HOW WILL THE CONTENT BE USED?
They will run a 30-second PSA on television. Please produce the spot as a :30, with 5 seconds of black at the end; San Diego Zoo Global will add the end card. If you have audio that runs the full 30 seconds (music or voice-over, for example), have it run over the black. San Diego Zoo Global staff may create additional executions to work as associated campaign materials with the video concepts, which may include radio, print, online, and out-of-home elements.

WHAT IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT CONCEPT THE VIDEO SHOULD CONVEY?
Habitat is disappearing, and endangered wildlife is disappearing with it. By supporting the San Diego Zoo Global Wildlife Conservancy, you are helping to protect both endangered species and the habitat on which they depend. With your support, the San Diego Zoo Global Wildlife Conservancy protects plants and animals so they can go home again.

Entries should be 30 seconds in length.
