Due August 29th, 2018 - Chances are your dentist has told you that maintaining healthy and beautiful teeth isn’t just about keeping them clean it’s also about preventing issues with your gums. Meridol is a European brand with oral care products aimed at protecting and maintaining gum health. Their products include toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, and toothbrushes. Meridol fights the cause of gum problems, not just the symptoms, offering specialized solutions from everyday prevention to soothing care and healing.

Meridol is now asking the Tongal community to create Concepts and Videos for short YouTube ads that feature their toothpaste. The purpose of the ads will be to communicate that Meridol is the best caring specialized prevention for gum issues (while the main competitor Parodontx communicates more around pain – with “alarmists” tones).

These ads are specifically for the French market so all dialogue, voiceover, and graphics will need to be in French. In addition, locations, cast, wardrobe, props etc. must feel native to France.

Since Meridol is available exclusively in the pharmacy retail environment (you don’t need a prescription) they would like to explore the possibility of using an Expert (they cannot legally use a Pharmacist) or Dentist character to help give credence to the effectiveness of the product. That said they are also open to Concepts that fall outside this approach as long they position Meridol as the best solution for preventing gum problems in a credible fashion.

Before submitting Concepts please keep in mind given the limited time to work with (:06 and :20). Concepts cannot involve elaborate set-ups and complicated stories.

The goal of this project is to create four :06 bumper ads and a :20 TrueView ad for Meridol. The communication goal is to position Meridol as the best solution to stop gum bleeding while also laying the foundation for healthy gums. You can either use a Dentist or Expert character to help convey this OR you can take a different approach as long as it communicates the above in a credible way.

Please leverage one or some of the below data/claims from the Meridol surveyed of 1,200 patients. This was for Meridol Paradont Expert toothpaste (so have to show that product when using these claims).

Occasional gum bleeding is the most common symptom but the less annoying
75% notice a decrease of the most annoying symptoms (swollen gums, red gums, gums pain) after 1-week usage
More than 9/10 people notice a decrease of their symptoms after 2 weeks usage
87% consider Meridol as a good or very good product
71% consider Meridol better than their previous TP
94% recommend Meridol

Filmmakers, please note that depending on the Concepts selected Meridol is open to utilizing the same cast and setting for all the videos save for tweaking some combination of the dialogue, voiceover, angles, or onscreen text to test how different iterations perform.

Video Awards (Open only to Pitch winner, due 9/17/18)
Upon submitting the videos that satisfy the criteria laid out in your winning pitch, the pitch winner will receive a final payment of $19,250.
