GE Aviation Docu-Style Video Project
Celebrate GE Aviation's focus on changing the future of aviation.

Due November 16th, 2018 - GE Aviation is a world-leading provider of jet and turboprop engines, components and integrated systems for commercial, military and business & general aviation aircraft. That’s a lot of important technology coming from the minds of some of the most talented and intelligent people all around the world, whose inventions help fuel innovation in all aspects of aviation; including the servicing of engines for customers.

And GE employees are just as impressive as the tech they create. From welders to data scientists to mechanics, every role at GE is crucial to the future of aviation, and worth celebrating.

GE is looking for a 2-3 minute video that celebrates the achievements and innovations of its aviation teams and their projects while inspiring audiences through showcasing GE’s proprietary innovations and creating awareness of the positive impacts GE’s tech makes on peoples’ lives.

This video should be documentary in style and tone, but with lightly scripted VO/talking points; they’re not looking for talking head interviews with specific people, but rather are interested in creating a portrait that celebrates a broader team working together to innovate the future, and the tools, technology, and crafts they’re building to achieve that. After all, GE’s 40,000-plus Aviation employees all around the world work on everything from small parts to big data to bring you home from your latest business trip, vacation, or important moment.

Rather than focus on one specific person or team, they want to create a portrait of the entire GE Aviation branch by showing audiences what goes on at a variety of Cincinnati-based facilities across a mix of teams and roles.

While you’ll be shooting on the ground at a few GE Aviation facilities in Cincinnati, OH, GE can also provide footage of technology from other GE Aviation locations around the world – so factor that into your pitches.

That said, this will involve a bit of local travel around Cincinnati, so you should factor that into your shooting plan and schedule.

As you put together your Pitch, consider which of these groups you’d want to feature, and how you’d work them in:
  Additive Worker
  Engineer + Assembler
  Test Engineer
  Data Scientists
  Fleet Support

A GE representative will work with the Pitch winner in pre-production to set up a production schedule with the roles/teams to be featured.

And here are some proof points for GE Aviation’s impact and leadership in the industry:

The GE90 is the most powerful engine in the world
The GE Passport is the most fuel-efficient engine in the world
As a joint venture, the CFM56 is the most reliable jet engine in the world
The LEAP engine (also a joint venture) is one of the most technologically-advanced engines in the world
The GE9X is the largest jet engine in the world
GE’s advanced avionics (aircraft electronics) systems significantly reduce costs
GE changes the way people fly by improving operational efficiency through data and analytics

The goal of this project is to create a 2- 3 minute documentary-style video, with a :30–:60 cutdown, that celebrates GE Aviation by exploring the cutting-edge technology and innovation their teams bring to life every day.
