Due November 6th, 2013 - The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health is launching the second annual “Protect Me with 3” campaign.

The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness about the importance of adolescent immunizations. As kids get older, protection provided by some vaccines they received in childhood can begin to wear off. Kids can also develop risks for more diseases as they enter their pre-teen years. Adolescent vaccinations provide protection from devastating diseases including: pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus, meningococcal, cervical and anal cancers, and genital warts. For these reasons, older kids need vaccinations too.

In a 30-second video, tell us why Tdap, Meningococcal Conjugate or HPV vaccinations are important to you. Your video must cover only one of the three vaccine categories (Tdap, meningococcal conjugate vaccine or HPV). A video discussing more than one vaccine will NOT be accepted.

The videos must:
    * contain 3 to 5 facts from the toolkit about the causes, symptoms, treatments or prevention of pertussis, meningococcal disease, or HPV; Why you need to be protected against the disease; How you can protect yourself from getting the disease
    * Encourage all children to be up-to-date with their immunizations and
promote New Jersey Immunization Information System (NJIIS) by including the following statement, “Talk to your healthcare provider to make sure you are in the New Jersey Immunization Information System and that you have received all the recommended vaccinations.” This statement can be spoken or written as text in your video.

Eligibility
Pre-teens and teens, 11 through 18 years of age, who are New Jersey residents, are eligible to enter this contest.
