Due September 7th, 2014 - Proust wrote "À la recherche du temps perdu" in French, but it’s read all over the world in English, Spanish, Polish, Norwegian, Italian... How is that possible? Who are these miracle-makers who deliver us world literature in our own language? They’re literary translators, of course. But looking at book reviews, book covers and marketing, you will hardly find any traces of their existence. Help to make them visible.

CEATL, the European Council of Literary Translators’ Associations (www.ceatl.eu), is now, for the third time, calling for video artists to create sparky and clever short films reflecting the existence and importance of literary translators, the challenges they face, and their role in literature.

This year’s topic is “Portraits of Literary Translators,” and videos up to three minutes long are accepted.
