Canadian students celebrate agriculture in a live Twitter contest!
Due March 31st, 2017 - Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada (AITC) member organizations celebrate Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) annually in classrooms across the nation each March. Agriculture comes alive in Canadian classrooms as students participate in activities to learn about, connect to and understand this important industry. Events and activities run throughout the month, to celebrate the fact that agriculture is all around, every day!
Since 2012, Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada has delivered this program to over 90,000 students in Canada. This hands-on program will encourage students to learn about and celebrate agriculture in various ways, including reading about farming, watching videos and live stream events, and meeting with farmers and other agricultural representatives. This project initiative was made possible through generous core funding from Farm Credit Canada.
Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) is taking place this March! The theme of CALM 2017 is "Our Food. Our Story." Agriculture in the Classroom Canada is inviting everyone to share their own food story, using #MyFoodStory in a Twitter Live video. Film your video as an individual or a group (e.g. class, 4-H Club). The story may include: how/why you produce food, sharing a food memory, a story about your favorite food/meal etc.
Here are the details:
