Due April 17th, 2017 - More than 2.2 billion children live in the world and more than 1 billion of them live in poverty. That means one of every two kids do not have access to food, shelter, clothing, housing, medical care or education - all the things they need to be empowered for the future. No child should have to go without a meal, or a safe place to sleep, or the chance to learn. The good news is that even small steps, when taken together, can make a real impact toward ending child poverty. Kids have the power to inspire others to help those who need it most because kids often see the simple steps that can make a real difference. That’s why The Red Nose Challenge empowers students in Grades 3-8, to come together and put their great ideas about how to address child poverty on video. After selecting an adult team leader to enter on their behalf, small teams of students (up to 4 students) create a video that explains why it’s important to help end child poverty and shows how they plan to make a difference. Big change starts with small steps. Take the first step today and encourage students to submit a video that could win $5,000 to implement their plan of action or other awesome prizes.

Eligible Students: Grades 3th-5th & 6th-8th

Follow these steps:
  1) The adult team leader OPENS a user account by registering for the challenge. Students can create a video individually or with up to three friends. Once the team leader has registered the team, the leader will be able to log in and follow the steps to submit the team’s video.
  2) BE CREATIVE! Students should include 1 statistic or fact about child poverty, 1 reason why everyone should care about ending child poverty and a plan of action which explains how they will help make a difference.
  3) Please make sure that you title the team’s video 'The Red Nose Challenge Video Submission – [Team title]” and that the team video is set for public viewing.

Entries should be between 1 minute and 2 minutes in length.
