Brawny Sheroes Awareness Videos
Share stories about female heroes for #StrengthHasNoGender
Staff Pick

Due January 8th, 2018 - Find authentic and emotionally compelling stories about real female heroes for Brawny®’s #StrengthHasNoGender campaign.

Brawny®, the iconic paper towel brand known for its strength and durability, wants to tell the stories of real female heroes (sheroes) as part of their highly successful #StrengthHasNoGender campaign. Brawny believes that while there is no shortage of sheroes, there is a real need to get more of their stories out there for people to see.

A shero is not some physics defying superhero, she’s a real, courageous, and resilient individual. She’ll always stand up for what she believes is right. She’s not afraid to express her fears but has found a way to persevere through them. She breaks gender stereotypes. She’s courageous and has overcome difficult circumstances. She is selflessness and gives back to the others and the community. She inspires not only by her words but also by her actions.

Now Brawny® is turning to the Tongal community to find real sheroes and capture their stories on video.

What you need to know:
 - These must be true stories featuring real women who have shown mental strength and resilience when faced with adversity. No actors.
 - Story submissions must include a 500 character or less summary and a photo of the person whose story is being submitted.
 - The person from the submitted story, if selected, will be featured in a short documentary-style video, and has to be over 18+ years old.
 - The content should be emotionally inspiring with compelling visuals. The sponsor would like to move away from just using talking heads.
 - Videos should not be focused on making some larger political or cultural statement, the focus should be on the individual’s personal story, and inspired others to become sheroes.
 - While the sponsor understands there may be difficult and painful moments within each story they want them to ultimately be inspirational and optimistic.
 - Diversity is very important for Sponsor. The 3 winning stories should be diverse in age and ethnicity.

The goal of this project is to create a :60-:90-second video with a 15-second cut down about real female heroes for Brawny’s® #StrengthHasNoGender campaign.

Brawny® has been an American icon of strength and durability. It’s the original “Big Tough Towel” made in the U.S.A., and engineered with strength to take on tough messes. The purpose of these stories is to inspire people to overcome life’s challenges with strength and resilience.

The sponsor is open to different approaches within the documentary format, e.g. using animation to show a past story told by the subject. If you have an interesting visual approach or unique way of telling the subject’s story, they would love to hear it in your Pitch.

The sponsor is awarding a total of 3 stories and will greenlight up to 3 producers to film them, however, they are open to a single producer capturing more than one story. If the stories come from different producers, Sponsor will want to ensure consistency across videos.
