Heads Up Georgia Video Contest 2026: Win a MacBook Pro
Make a 30-second PSA that could change how another teen drives
Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Heads Up Georgia contest gives high school students exactly 30 seconds to show why distracted driving is dangerous and what safer behavior looks like. The strongest entry will feel like a real public-service message, not a classroom lecture squeezed into half a minute.
Contest details
- Deadline: November 8, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
- Who can enter: Students currently enrolled in a Georgia high school. Teams may collaborate, but one student must be named lead producer and prize recipient.
- Entry fee: Free.
- Prizes: One first-place winner receives a MacBook Pro; two second-place winners each receive an iPad Air. Winning PSAs are also scheduled to air during the 2026 GHSA High School Football Championships.
- Video format: An original PSA exactly 30 seconds long, uploaded to YouTube for submission.
What the judges want
The subject is distracted driving, but the concept is open. Build the message around one clear risk or behavior, give the viewer a memorable image or line, and leave enough time for the ending to land. Adults may offer verbal guidance or appear as actors, but professional production assistance is prohibited.
How to enter
Give the PSA a unique title, upload it to YouTube, and submit the link through GPB’s official form during the entry window. Use only original or properly licensed music, footage, graphics, and other material, and keep written permissions available if the organizer requests them.
Rights terms
The entrant keeps the underlying intellectual-property ownership. By entering, creators grant GPB broad rights to use, reproduce, distribute, perform, display, and promote the video without additional compensation. Read the complete rule before submitting, especially the publicity and release language.
