ReelLIFE SCIENCE Video Competition 2026: Win €1,000 for Your School or Youth Group

Explain a science idea clearly—and make it entertaining enough to remember

Organized by science staff and students at the University of Galway, ReelLIFE SCIENCE welcomes topics ranging from climate action and medicine to engineering, space, technology, myths, and science songs. Judges look at scientific accuracy, production quality, and the entry’s “X-factor,” so a simple concept explained brilliantly can compete with a more elaborate production.

Contest details

• Deadline: October 9, 2026.
• Who can enter: Young people representing a primary school, secondary school, or youth organization in Ireland or Northern Ireland.
• Entry fee: Free.
• Prize: At each of three levels, first place receives €1,000, second receives €500, and third receives €250 for the represented school or youth organization.
• Video format: A 1–3 minute live-action or animated science video in English or Irish, uploaded publicly to YouTube.
