TAKE JUAN JuanFlix vertical short film competition 2026

TAKE JUAN Vertical Shorts Competition 2026: Win PHP 50,000

October 10, 2026

Make a vertical short that feels designed for the phone screen

TAKE JUAN asks Filipino filmmakers to treat the 9:16 frame as a creative choice rather than a cropped version of a traditional movie. Narrative, documentary, animation, and mixed-media shorts are all eligible, with cash awards and a year of streaming exposure on JuanFlix.

Contest details

  • Deadline: October 24, 2026.
  • Who can enter: Filipino citizens living in the Philippines. The applicant rules specify legal age, while a separate project rule says the competition is open regardless of age; minors should confirm eligibility with FDCP before investing time.
  • Entry fee: Free.
  • Prizes: PHP 50,000 grand prize, PHP 30,000 second prize, and PHP 20,000 third prize, plus trophies and certificates. Twenty finalists receive recognition, merchandise, and a JuanFlix subscription.
  • Video format: An original 3–5 minute vertical film in 9:16 at 1080 × 1920 or higher, delivered as MP4 or MOV.

How to enter

Create a film completed during 2026, prepare a vertical poster or thumbnail, a director’s statement, behind-the-scenes material, and any copyright clearances. Submit a private Google Drive or Vimeo link through the official form, or use the listed physical-delivery option. Films already posted publicly are not eligible.

Rights and distribution

Filmmakers keep exhibition and ancillary rights. Finalists grant FDCP limited screening rights for Cinematheque and educational screenings, and selected films stream on JuanFlix for one year. During that window, selected films cannot be distributed on another commercial streaming service, so read the exclusivity language carefully.

Read the official FDCP TAKE JUAN guidelines and enter.
